How to choose the first minimum?
The first minimum is: The initial contact, where the heels strikes against the ground.
Steps to select the first minimum
The system will mark a small blue vertical bar on the graph indicating the software’s calculation of the average start point of all gait cycles.
Use the blue vertical bar to confirm the software’s calculation by dragging it over the small blue vertical bar.

This now indicates the start of each gait cycle.
How can you be sure the system identified the “right” first minimum?
To accurately select the first minimum, follow these 3 directions:
Don’t forget to verify ALL the following steps to select the first minimum accurately!
1. The first minimum should be between 18% and 30% of the gait cycle.
If the first minimum is before 18% or after 30%, you may want to select the first minimum manually.

If small blue vertical bar isn’t between 18-30%
Instead of gliding the Blue Vertical Bar over the Small Blue Vertical Bar you will need to manually select where the first minimum is by following the next steps!
2. The first minimum should be at the lowest point ON THE DOTTED LINE where the slope of the curve changes from descending to
ascending.
If the first minimum is not at the lowest point between the ascending and descending slopes, you may want to select the first minimum manually.

If the small blue vertical bar isn’t at the lowest point on the dotted line
Instead of gliding the Blue Vertical Bar over the Small Blue Vertical Bar you will need to manually select where the first minimum is.To accurately decide where the minimum is, remember that it is usually between 18 and 30% of the gait cycle and follow the following step for more information!
3. If there is a plateau where the slope changes, you need to consider the width. Select where the curve is thinner, as this is the most reproducible point.
If it is not at the thinnest point of the plateau you may want to select the first minimum manually

If the small blue vertical bar isn’t at the lowest point on the dotted line
